#ShameOnNTA : Football fans slam NTA over Poor Coverage of Nigeria, Benin Match

2 Min Read

Football fans across Nigeria have criticized the nation’s foremost Broadcast Television, National Television Authority,  NTA over the poor coverage of the AFCON Qualifier match between Nigeria and Bènin Republic.

NTA which is the nation’s National TV exhibited gross incompetence while covering the match. The commentator made several gaffes; in a commentary he said; “Super Eagles 1, Nigeria 2” referring to Super Eagles and Nigeria like they were two different teams.

However, Nigerians have taken to Twitter social app to criticize the TV station.

Read some of their comments;

@dkuti82

NTA just exposed themselves to the world and other continents through the shameful live broadcast between Nigeria vs Benin.

No wonder they could not show ordinary NPFL.

According to the commentator Iwobi is still an Arsenal player. I’m done with NTA. #ShameOnNTA

@GbemiDennis

I think NTA’s case calls for a National discourse. I can’t remember the last time I checked in there but this is shameful…

What does it really take to get better gan? #NGABEN #TotalAFCON2021Q

@billy_ope

-According to the match commentary crew, Iwobi’s still playing at Arsenal
