The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has expressed gratitude to the people of the state for re-electing him.
The governor shared photos of him celebrating with his lieutenants shortly after he was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

INEC State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Tella Adeniran, announced on Sunday that Makinde won in 31 Local Government Areas (LGA) out of 33 LGAs.
Makinde defeated his two major opponents, Teslim Folarin of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 356,685, and Adebayo Adelabu of the Accord Party (AP), who polled 38,757 votes.
The governor-elect dedicated his victory to God and the good people of the state.
“We dedicate this victory to God and the good people of Oyo State. We are grateful for your confidence in our administration and promise to work even harder to deliver our promises under Omituntun 2.0,” he wrote.
