The offences for which Abdullahi is being charged for are contrary to sections 283 and 221 of the Nigerian Penal Code.

The police laid the case bare before the court as it explain its case against the suspect. According to the police;   Mr. Abdullahi lured the three year old into an uncompleted building where he proceeded to assault her sexually.

In the process of committing the dastardly act, Abdullahi covered the mouth of the toddler, thereby suffocating her to death in the process.

The case had been reported by the father of the victim to the Funtua Central Police Station after which they swung into action.

At the arraignment of the suspect however, the police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado, told the court that investigation had been completed  but he requested for a new date for trial.
