Sex worker furious after being barred from joining police force

An OnlyFans model and escort, Lisa Lewis, is furious after being stopped from joining the police force in Australia because of her status as a sex worker.

Lewis said she migrated from New Zealand to Darwin, Australia in May, after watching a television interview in which an Aussie police commissioner appealed for police recruits.

Northern Territory police commissioner, Michael Murphy had said, ‘Anyone who wants to come and join us, please come and put an application in online’.

The commissioner’s appeal followed a crime wave in Alice Spring, a remote town in Australia’s Northern Territory.

Lewis, who said she had dreamt of becoming a cop since she was a child, subsequently packed her bags and headed for the neighbouring Australia.

She said she applied online on July 17 and identified forensics as her “goal”.

However, her lifelong dream of joining the police force was cut short after her application was rejected because of her ‘declared history’.

Lewis was also barred from reapplying for five years.

She accused the Northern Territory police of discrimination and filed a complaint with the territory’s Anti-Discrimination Commission.

“I believe that Northern Territory Police have breached anti-discrimination legislation that came into effect on 3 July, 2023.

“I believe a huge part of integrity is honesty. Now say if a person was honest in their police application about their drug-taking habits, that is different because they are involved in illegal activity.

“I have been working in a legal industry declaring 100 per cent of my income and being honest.

“I was disappointed with the integrity team for dismissing me from Northern Territory Police recruitment. I feel that with such an act of rejecting me for being honest about a legal job that has stigma, they will be encouraging future recruits to lie to get in,” Lewis said.
