At the hearing of the trial of the Senator representing Adamawa North, Elisha Abbo, the prosecutor has said that there is more CCTV footage against the defendant, The Cable news reports.
Abbo, who was caught on camera assaulting a nursing mother who was a sales agent at a sex toy store in Abuja, was arraigned at a magistrate court in Zuba.
The Cable reported that “At the resumed hearing on Thursday, James Idachaba, prosecution counsel, informed the court that they have retrieved another CCTV footage that captured the incident and that they intend to tender it as additional proof of evidence.”
“He also informed the court that the second prosecution witness was in court to testify.
“However, the witness could not testify because Adegbite Adeniyi, Abbo’s counsel, applied for an adjournment.
“He said they had just been served with the additional proof of evidence and he would need time to study it.

Quoting the defence counsel, the Cable said;
“The law gives us the right to be given time to go through such proof of evidence before the case can continue,” he said.
The magistrate, Abdullahi Ilellah, then adjourned the case till November 19 for continuation of trial.
Recall that the Herald reported that the Senator had been caught on tape, slapping a young sales agent repeatedly before trying to force her out of a store in Abuja.
The incident soon caught the attention of many Nigerians online, leading to serious bashing and calls for the senator to step down from his post. Eventually, Abbo was invited by the police for questioning and prosecution for the crime.
