Though Sarah Jessica Parker has previously hinted at a Sex And The City reunion on a number of occasions, it seems Cynthia Nixon – who played sassy lawyer Miranda Hobbs in the show – isn’t quite on the same page as her former co-star after claiming that the world ‘doesn’t need’ another Sex And The City because all of the lessons have been learned.
Speaking to The Guardian newspaper about the much-loved show, which chronicled the lives of single women in New York City, the actress expressed there is little desire for a third movie because she believes audiences have taken all they can from it.
When asked by the publication whether or not she feels there are a lack of shows about women talking about sex and relationships in the same way, Cynthia replied: ‘With something that is such a success, it’s very hard to know what all went into us capturing that moment.
‘We don’t need another Sex and the City because we learned the lesson of the show: marriage isn’t the be all and end all in women’s minds any more, and women are friends with each other in a way that rivals their romantic relationships.’ She continued.
Nevertheless, the actress did admit she would like to work on third movie just so she could be reunited with some of the great people she worked with.
