The Argentine is free to leave for any club of his choice outside Europe next Summer. A clause that was inserted into Messi’s contract now allows him to make a free move to any club of his choice outside Europe at the end of every season starting next summer, hence the interest from former England’s captain.

Beckham has admitted he’s searching the world for elite-level players, which is why the Inter Miami owner is starting at the top of the tree. He has also admitted he’s keen on approaching Cristiano Ronaldo, and Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani both have been linked with moves to South Beach.
Barcelona Radio’s Xavi Campos is reporting that this potentially “huge” deal “interests” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. However, Barca chief Josep Maria Bartomeu insists the club are keen to keep their star man until 2022 at the very least. Catalan outlet Mundo Deportivo recently suggested Barca were ready to offer Messi a lifetime contract, which would keep him at Camp Nou until the end of his career.
Messi started his Barcelona career at the age of 17 and has gone on to win several laurels with the club. A lot of football critics cite the immobility of the prolific attacker as a disadvantage compared to his eternal rival Cristiano Ronaldo. More football fans than not around the world would love to see Messi in new colours but for now, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and wait.
