The law is no respecter of persons, it has been said.
To this end, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Rickey Tarfa, before a State High Court in Lagos for unlawful obstruction of justice.
The senior lawyer was on Tuesday arraigned before Justice Aishat Opesanwo at the court in Igbosere, Lagos, on a two-count charge.
According to the charges, the senior lawyer had on February 5, 2016, allegedly hid two suspects identified as Nazaire Gnanhoue and Modeste Finagnon in his Mercedes Benz Sport Utility Vehicle to help them evade arrest by the EFCC.
The suspects, who are from the Republic of Benin, allegedly fraudulently converted some equipment belonging to a manufacturing firm, Rana Prestige Nigeria Limited for personal use.
Also, Tarfa was accused of holding an unlawful conversation with Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court.
The senior lawyer was arrested within the precinct of the Lagos High Court, Igbosere, Lagos on February 5.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges.
