The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani has described the condition of his colleague, Sen. Dino Melaye (APC – Kogi West), in hospital.
Melaye, who was being taken into custody on Tuesday, had jumped off a police van, injuring himself in the process.
The police had declared him wanted on allegations of arming hoodlums in his home state, Kogi.
Sani, who was one of the senators allowed access to Melaye at the National Hospital, Abuja where he is being treated, described his colleague’s condition.
Taking to his Facebook and Twitter pages, Sani wrote: “I was among the few Senators allowed into the intensive care Unit of the National Hospital to see distinguish Senator Dino. He was not on handcuffs but on drips. He was barely able to speak and his neck was bandaged. I’m not a medical Doctor or a Nurse to conclude whether that means ‘stable or not’. That is the truth.”
