The Senate has issued an ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari on the submission of the 2021 budget.
The Senate President Ahmed Lawan reiterated that the President must ensure the submission of the 2021 budget to the National Assembly on or before the end of September 2020.

Lawan expressed this as he forwarded the 2021-2023 Median Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper submitted by the Executive to the relevant Senate Committees.
The senate President said the Time Frame given will enable the Lawmakers complete their job of passing the budget by December.
He further urged the lawmakers in the senate committees to scrutinize revenue generating agencies properly to ensure that a thorough job of scrutiny of their individual budget is done.
