The Joint Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team and the Anti-Robbery Patrol Team of Kajuru Divisional Headquarters have recovered over 174 animals comprising of 145 cows, 20 sheep and one donkey from rustlers in Kaduna.
The spokesman of Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, Mr. Samuel Aruwan disclosed this in a statement on Thursday said the troops acted on a tip-off and swiftly rushed to Lebere bush in Kajuru Local Government Area of the State.
“On sighting the team, the rustlers took to their heels. However, investigation is in progress to apprehend the fleeing rustlers while the animals are to be conveyed to the state distribution centre,” he said.
“In another development, a gang of Sara-Suka members, numbering about 20 on Tuesday 3rd November, 2015 at about 8:00pm attacked and injured one Mohammed Yusuf Abdullahi of AH2 Bichi Road and Abubakar Ibrahim of No. 11 Kinshasha Road, along Shehu Laminu Road, Ungwan Rimi area of Kaduna metropolis. The timely intervention of the Operation Yaki Surveillance Patrol Team restored law and order in the area.
“On sighting the team the criminals took to their heels and nobody was arrested but the victims of the attack were rushed to Barau Dikko Hospital for treatment.
“Meanwhile, the surveillance teams from Operation Yaki has been deployed to the area to forestall any break down of law and order, while investigation is in progress to apprehend the perpetrators of the crime for possible prosecution.”
