The whereabouts of the former ex-militant leader, Government Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo are still unknown even as the clock counts down to his appearance in court.
Recall that the Federal High court siting in Lagos had given the Nation’s security agencies the mandate to produce Tompolo on February 19 in appearance for his next court hearing.
Following the order, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in a signed advertorial had declared Tompolo wanted in connection with N45.9 billion fraud.
Even as it’s four days to the convening of his trial, his Ijaw relatives are not ready to give up information on the whereabouts of the former militant leader.
A traditional Monarch who pleaded anonymity said; “No Gbaramatu man will reveal the hideout of Tompolo to any security man even if he knows, unless that person does not have a true Ijaw blood flowing in him.
“Tompolo is an institution, not only in Ijaw land, but in the whole of Niger Delta. He has touched many lives and is the current symbol of the struggle. Therefore, it is not easy for any full-blooded Ijaw man to betray him. From what I can see, the whole thing is about business transaction, the Federal Government should settle the matter and let peace reign.”
