The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) kicked against the documentary by BBC on it’s late founder, Temitope Babatunde Joshua, popularly known as TB Joshua.
According to SCOAN, the people interviewed in the documentary who claimed to be former members of the church were never members of the church.
This was contained in a statement signed by the church’s Public Affairs Director, Mr. Dare Adejumo, on Tuesday.
The Herald reported that BBC, on Monday, released a controversial documentary on the late TB Joshua, where they accused him of various crimes, including rape against some members of his church.
Reacting to the report, the church slammed BBC, saying that the report was based on falsehood, which is against the ethics and fundamental principles of the journalism profession.
The church further stated that the report breached the ethics of journalism, which requires investigation, fairness, balance and objectivity as it sold out a single story to the public.
“BBC has compromised these lofty principles by descending into fictional narratives and propaganda, thus turning itself into a weapon for a hatchet job as gangsters in the gab of journalism with a destructive ulterior motive for personal gains against a perceived enemy,” the church said.
The church further noted that the report by BBC was targeted at tarnishing TB Joshua’s good legacies that he had while on earth.
According to SCOAN, the thousands of miracles that have been performed in the church by it’s founder and his successor after his demise were all done by the power of the Lord.
The church’s public relations officer further noted that the beneficiaries of the miracles are everywhere, should BBC want to confirm instead of spreading lies against late TB Joshua.
