Fuel stations across the country will begin to sell fuel before the end of today as oil marketers have reached an understanding with the Federal Government.
Chairman of the Senate Committe on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) made this known to gentlemen of the press after a meeting with Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala and Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) fondly refered to as subsidy cabal by section of the general public.
Other parties represented at the meeting include the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), National Unin of Petroleum and Natural Gas (NUPENG), and Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN).
Nigerians had been in a state of economic slowdown especially over the last few days as businesses began to close down and/or operate in limited capacity.
Capital Oil and Gas CEO, Ifeanyi Ubah has been credited for being the first major marketer to resist the antics of his colleagues in the subsidy cabal even as some insisted his charitable gesture to be nothing more than posturing.
