Manchester United are said to have gotten a huge takeover offer from the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad Bin Salman. He allegedly offered to pay £3.8 billion to make the premier league giants his own.
Before now, board members of the club have spent some time in Saudi Arabia, predictably in a bid cement the deal with the prince.
The Sun reports that the Saudi Royal family have been trying to convince the club’s current owner, The Glazers, to endorse the deal just in time so they could switch ownership before next season starts.
Although, family members of The Glazers have stated their disagreement with the idea of selling over the club. However, they maintained that the amount being offered could make the club’s owners consider going ahead with the deal.
Despite the obvious desire to buy over the club, a source close to the royal family has clarified that the current bid that has been made will only stand if Manchester are able to qualify for the Uefa Champions League next season.
