Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman has been revealed as the buyer, in 2015, of Chateau Louis XIV, regarded as the world’s most expensive home.
He bought the 57-acre property located in the south of France for $300 million through a shell company.
He was also said to have bought a $500 million yacht through the same company in 2015.
Though modelled after 17th-century architecture, the Chateau has fountains that can be controlled by an iPhone and a plethora of eye-popping features and facilities, including a cinema, deluxe swimming pool and a moat with a transparent underwater chamber so that visitors can enjoy the sight of koi carp swimming past.
The latest revelation is coming after the Prince was revealed to have bought, in November, the most expensive painting ever sold at auction – Salvatore Mundi by Leonardo Da Vinci – for $450 million.
Since ascending to the position of Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman has waged a relentless war on corruption.
