Sarkodie, the renowned Ghanaian musician, has finally broken his silence regarding actress Yvonne Nelson’s claim that he coerced her into terminating a pregnancy. The allegation was made by the 37-year-old actress in her recently published memoir titled “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson.”
According to Yvonne Nelson, she was impregnated by Sarkodie in 2010, but he refused to take responsibility for their unborn child, leading her to make the difficult decision to have an abortion. However, Sarkodie has responded to these accusations by releasing a diss track titled ‘Try Me.’
In the song, Sarkodie reveals that he actually advised Yvonne Nelson to keep the pregnancy, despite not being financially prepared for it. He claims that Yvonne insisted on terminating the pregnancy because she was still in school at the time. Sarkodie further accuses Yvonne of promiscuity, labeling her a ‘hoe’ who engaged in sexual encounters with multiple men and performed oral sex on various individuals. He challenges her to share her complete story but also expresses his hope that she finds the healing she needs, as she appears to be deeply hurt.
Addressing the issue directly, Sarkodie asserts, “I never thought I was going on this wave, cause I was ready to take a couple of things to my grave. First of all, let me clap for you baby you are brave but you can’t pick and choose what to say pls behave, nobody sent you so Ohemaa if you want to talk, you have to tell the world every n*gga that you f*cked.“
Continuing his response, Sarkodie discloses, ”I am not going to sit here and lie we had a thing, first I thought we were cool till I had a hint … You told me you were pregnant and I was the one to be blamed … yes I wasn’t ready but I told you to keep it and you explained that you have to complete your school”
