Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has expressed delight following the loan deal secured by former Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS) FC star, Benjamin Fredrick to Brentford FC in England.
Fredrick, who is a central defender, joined Brentford B team on loan from Simoiben FC in Kaduna, until the end of the 2023/24 season.
There is an option to make the deal, which is subject to international clearance, permanent, the English club said in a Thursday statement.
Fredrick is a Nigerian youth international who featured at the Under-20 World Cup for the Flying Eagles earlier this summer as they reached the quarter-final stages, before exiting the competition with a 1-0 defeat to South Korea.
Reacting to the loan deal, Saraki said, “I am elated to hear about Benjamin’s loan to Brentford FC.
“From his early days at ABS FC to representing Nigeria at the U-20 level, his journey exemplifies talent, hard work, and perseverance.
“This is another proud moment for us and an inspiration to other young Nigerian players. I am confident that Benjamin will continue to make us all prooud!”
