Saraki condemns Abuja bombing

The President of the Senate, Dr. Bukola Saraki has condemned the multiple bomb explosions that rocked Abuja on Friday.

The bomb explosions that rocked the Federal Capital Territory, Nyanya and Kuje left over 18 people dead and countless others injured.

In a statement signed by Dr. Saraki’s media team, he urged Nigerians not to panic about the menace of the insurgents as their days are numbered.

Furthermore, he commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The Senate President commended the security agencies for their quick response to the incidents in Nyanya and Kuje, particularly in the areas of evacuated of the dead and movement of the injured to hospitals.

While promising the Senate’s support to the war on terror by increasing budgetary allocations to the armed forces, Dr. Saraki urged the security agencies to step up their surveillance and intelligence gathering with the view of ensuring that lasting peace and security of lives and property return to Abuja.

Similarly, he called on all Nigerians to support the war on terror by praying for the country and providing any vital information about the terrorists that may come into their possession.

He said that with prayers and collaborative effort on the part of all involved in the project called Nigeria, the Boko Haram insurgency will soon be a thing of the past.
