The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has emerged victorious in Saturday’s gubernatorial election in Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu won in all 20 local governments in the state.
Although the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not officially declared the winner, results released by the commission showed that Sanwo-Olu defeated his closest challenger, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by more than 500,000 votes.
While Sanwo-Olu secured 739,441 votes, Agbaje polled 206,141 votes to place second in the race.
