Comrade Kehinde Oshilaja, who is the convener of Centre for Disabilities has come out to thank  Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for employing 20 physically-challenged people at the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).

In a statement signed by the Secretary, Comrade Taiwo Adesina, Oshilaja said the action of the governors are well appreciated.

Oshilaja said, “Without mincing words, this act has not only shown the kindness of our governor, it has also proved him to be an action man. The decision has confirmed him to be a professional in governance. Our group will never forget this expression of love by Governor Sanwo-Olu,”

Oshilaja asked for more input from other heads of government and policy makers.

“We pledge our support for the government and express our readiness to answer government’s call whenever they want ideas on how to address the welfare of the physically-challenged.

“Like Oliver Twist, we are asking Governor Sanwo-Olu to employ more of our members in ministries and agencies. We thank the Managing Director of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, for accepting our members into the agency,”

The good will of the governor did not stop there, as the governor has also promised to put in more efforts into freeing up clogged drains.

On Thursday, Lagos State government  said effort was on to free up clogged drains and mop up floods that have taken over many streets and roads across the state. It urged residents not to panic or resort to panicky measures.
