The Dethronement and subsequent banishment of Former Emir Mohammed Sanusi II of Kano Emirate has continued to generate reactions from different quarters. According to the former militant, Sanusi never had the interest of the North at heart and only spoke for his own interests.

In a video released on YouTube, Asari Dokubo accused the former Emir of Fraud.

He said the ex-Emir should be convicted and imprisoned instead of being celebrated in apparent support for Ganduje.

According to Dokubo in the video, the former CBN boss has no truth to tell and is a liar from the pit of hell.

He claimed to have met Him several times and realised that he is nothing but a fraud.

Recall that Mohammed Sanusi II was dethroned by the Governor Ganduje led government of Kano State for insurbordination and disrespect to government and traditional council authorities in the State.

After his dethronement, he was banished to Awe under DSS and Police Protection. While he was there, he bagged two appointments and two visits from Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai.

Sanusi thereafter challenged his continued detention in court after which he was granted his freedom.

A lot of Nigerians sympathized with the former Emir and praised him for always speaking the truth to power.

Important Personalities like former President Obasanjo commiserated with the former Emir and comforted him with the fact that he was an agent of change which the North was not ready for.

Amid the praises from different quarters however, several people believe the dethronement was deserved. While some felt the Emir was supposed to be conservative given his postion, others like Asari Dokubo believe that Sanusi belonged in jail.
