There is an impending confrontation between Northern governors in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Vice-President Namadi Sambo over the sharing of two senior party offices allotted to the region.
The governors are angry that the VP had put his cronies in the offices of the National Organizing Secretary and Treasurer in the National Working Committee.
The two occupiers of the offices are Abubakar Mustapha from Kaduna State and Bala Kaoje from Kebbi State.
However, the directive from the leadership of the party that all those whose election at the party’s convention were queried by the Independent National Electoral Commission should resign has made the aggrieved governors to renew their anger against the vice-president.
According to one of the governors who spoke on Friday that it would be difficult for the two nominees of the vice-president to return to their offices.
He said, “We won’t sit and allow the vice-president to take all the positions and make us redundant in our zone.
No response has been heard yet from the Vice-President’s office.
