The Ogudu Recreational Centre, Ogudu G.R.A.  in  Lagos State, on Tuesday recorded a large turnout of funseekers celebrating  the Eid-el-Kabir.  A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who visited the park noticed that it was filled with various people from Ogudu and its environs.  Funseekers were seen engaging in different sports like swimming, lawn tennis, football and volleyball.  Also, children were seen playing on different swings at the park.  Mr Deoye Ogundipe, a retiree said the holiday was a time to spend with his family.  “My children stay far away from me, so I seize the opportunity provided by  the holiday to spend time with my family members because they also come around.  “This park is the perfect place for that because of its ambience and its amazing recreational facilities,” he said.  Also, Mr Ademola Akano, a businessman, said that he usually used  the holiday to take a break from work.  “Holidays like this always give me the avenue to relax from the stress of my job.  So, I always look forward to such.  “Coming here is the perfect place for me to relax, chill and have fun at the same,” he said.  A restaurant attendant at the park, Mrs Adebola Akande said the occasion was an opportunity to make huge sales.  “The influx of people into the park is an advantage for us to make brisk sales; we are making high sales this period,” she said.  An official of the park who refused to reveal his identity, said that the park was secured and no form of mishap had been recorded since its inception.  “Our guests and visitors  feel extremely safe in this park because of its security and the utmost protection that we give to our visitors,” the official said.  Similarly, eateries located in that axis also recorded high turnover as people came out to celebrate with their loved ones.  Margellos, Chicken Republic, Labule and Farm City’s car parks were full, thereby causing traffic along  the Ogudu axis.  NAN reports that the Federal Government had declared this week’s Tuesday and Wednesday as public holidays for Nigerians to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.(NAN)
