Mr Wobin Gora, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Bayelsa, has charged his officers to be dedicated to duty in their efforts to maintain safer roads for Nigerians.
Gora told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Yenagoa that the corps was ready to encourage officers to put in more efforts into their service to the public through commendations.
He said that the command was following due process with the FRSC plan by promoting three of its officers as part of its strategies to promote safer roads.
“This is a new year, we have started with the promotion of some of our personnel; I am advising all officers to be up-and- doing in their official duties.
“To the three newly promoted officers, I charge them to take their duties more diligently for the interest of the nation,’’ he said.
On traffic control in Bayelsa, Gora reiterated the commitment of the corps and urged motorists to guard against violating traffic rules.
He said that motorists obeying traffic rules and regulations would help to reduce road crashes across the country.
Gora, who expressed worries over the rate of fatalities caused by road accidents across the country, said the corps would continue to sensitise road users in Bayelsa so as to achieve zero crash.
“There is no need for drivers’ speeding, over-loading and dangerous over-taking while driving,’’ he said. (NAN)
