Sadiya Umar Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management and Social Development has finally addressed rumours surrounding her alleged marriage to President Buhari which was purported last year.

The Minister who granted an interview to Daily Trust disclosed the marriage news was fake and she being a ‘real’ person dismissed it and continued to focus on her duties as the Minister.
Sadiya revealed she is a reserved person who appreciates spending her leisure time indoors. When asked if she has met with the First Lady Aisha Buhari since the marriage rumour circulated on the Nigerian social space, Minister Sadiya replied in the negative. She said her busy work schedule has made meeting the First Lady impossible.

The interview which was conducted in Hausa language has attracted backlash from citizens who feel the Minister ought to address such an important issue in the language every Nigerian understands.
