Saraki Should Also Be Rejected If Senate Rejected Magu – Sen. Ali Ndume

Bukola Saraki

A Senator in the National Assembly, Ali Ndume, has faulted the emergence of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki as the Speaker of the House and other members of the house following the second time rejection of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC acting chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

Senator Ali Ndume made this known while speaking with Channels TV today.

The senator noted that if Ibrahim Magu was rejected for the EFCC’s top job by the Senate on grounds of the DSS’ testimony against him, then Bukola Saraki should not be the Senate President.

Ali Ndume referred to the Senate President’s case which is in court based on allegations levelled against him by the Federal Government for false declaration of assets.

Speaking on Channels TV today, Ndume said the senate had no justification for rejecting Ibrahim Magu adding that he and other colleagues in the senate had committed several crimes but despite that occupy positions in the Senate.

He said: “We have all been accused, I have been accused of sponsoring Boko Haram, the senate president is still going court, same as other members who have cases in court, yet they occupy seats in the senate. So, if you say because of the allegations he (Magu) should not be confirmed, then I should not be a sitting senator and Saraki should not be there as senate president.”
