The Welsh legend who has arguably been United’s longest serving player and assistant manager (29 years) looks set to quit the club after reports surfaced that he was going to be demoted by new manager José Mourinho.
According to the Mirror UK, Giggs met with José this week and the latter offered Giggs a more limited role role which Giggs looks to reject.
The most decorated Manchester United player seems to be ready to take on management himself and despite his strong bond with United is unwilling to take a lesser role in the team.
Jose Mourinho is understood to be bringing in his own people and looks set to appoint Rui Faria as his No 2 man.
Giggs had been harbouring ambitions of managing United himself especially after the exits of David Moyes and Louie Van Gaal, but that seems to be an impossible dream and club legend will now reportedly move on.
