Recently crowned best player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo has said he will love to play against the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the World Cup in Russia
According to former Nigerian sensational left winger, Adokiye Amiesimaka, who was part of a Rivers State government delegation that recently went on a guarded tour of Real Madrid facilities in Spain, he made the revelation during an interview monitored on Beat FM in Oyo State.
“We had the opportunity of meeting Ronaldo and he also had a great pleasure meeting us. He was happy. He expressed himself saying Nigeria is a great football nation he will want to play against.
“He made it known that he knew we were the first Africa nation to qualify for the 2018 World Cup. He said he will be looking forward to meeting Nigeria in Russia”. Sports Village recalls that Nigeria and Portugal had never met at Grade A level.
The two teams have only met at the under 20 level in Saudi Arabia in 1989. Portugal defeated Nigeria 1-0 at the group stage and later 2-0 in the final match.
