Sergei Lavrov and Vladimir Makei the Foreign Ministers of Belarus and Russia, on Wednesday expressed concern over the growing tensions in the Eurasian Continent.

The U.S. intention to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and the buildup of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s military activity near the borders of Belarus and Russia pose challenges to the two countries’ security.
Lavrov said this at a news conference following a meeting between the two countries’ foreign ministries.
The Russian minister stressed that the challenges required an appropriate response.
Makei said that there was a feeling that the world had not become aware of the growing threat of a large military conflict.
According to the minister the destruction of the fundamental agreements on international security continues and military capabilities are further strengthened, including in Europe which is close to Belarus.
