Ruger Reveals The Crucial Screening His Team Goes Through Before Bringing Girls On Stage

In a recent revelation, Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Michael Adebayo Olayinka, popularly known as Ruger, has shed light on a practice that has caught public attention. The artist affirmed that he only engages in on-stage dances with women over the age of 21, asserting the importance of verifying their age through ID cards before any such interaction.

This disclosure follows significant criticism Ruger faced for his on-stage conduct, where he was seen touching the body parts of his female fans during performances. Addressing the matter in an interview with the Zero Conditions Podcast, Ruger emphasized that this practice is not unique to him, stating, “I’m not the first to do it; lots of artists do it, maybe because it’s Ruger.”

He highlighted that his team diligently checks the ID cards of potential participants to ensure they meet the age requirement of 21 and above. He emphasized that those under 21 would not be allowed on stage for such interactions.

Furthermore, Ruger provided insights into his pre-performance routine, highlighting the importance of preparing his spirit, body, and soul for tours. He shared that he engages in workouts, prayers, and fasting to enhance his energy and spiritual readiness before going on stage.

Detailing his preparation, he mentioned, “Before I kick off my America tour, I used to go to Eko Atlantic and run like four times, get back into my car and go home. So, it helps my energy. I make sure I ate well, slept well. Prayer too. Fasting and prayer just to be prepared spiritually.”
