England captain and Manchester United forward, Wayne Rooney has matched Sir Bobby Charlton’s record of 49 goals for England, in a 6-0 demolition of San Marino on Saturday.
The 29-year-old former Everton player scored in the 13th minute in a game that secured the Three Lions’ UEFA Euro 2016 spot with three matches to spare.
Rooney is expected to surpass the England record as he appears to have a few more years to play for the national team.
Two goals from Arsenal’s Theo Walcott, a goal each from the duo of Ross Barkley and Harry Kane, and an own goal by Cristian Brolli completed the rout.
