Real Madrid has announced that Christian Ronaldo has signed a new contract with the club.
The Portuguese star has finally ended months of speculation by putting pen-to-paper on fresh terms at the club.
Details of the contract are yet to be revealed but according to Spanish media, Ronaldo will become Spain’s highest paid player and will earn a net salary of 17 million euros per year.
The Portugal captain is set to earn two times what world record signing Gareth Bale gets per annum, the player was linked with a move back to his former club Manchester United over the summer but the player has always reiterated his desire to stay following the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti.
The coach himself underlined his belief that the deal would go through.
“Ronaldo wants to renew his contract and the club want him to renew. I don’t think it will be a problem,” Ancelotti said last month.
