Portuguese living legend Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first Serie A hat-trick against Cagliari on Monday. The former Real Madrid number 7 has now scored a total of 56 career hat-tricks. Ronaldo capitalized on a Ragnar Klavan’s second-half error to give his team the lead and then doubled his tally from the penalty spot after Paula Dybala was brought down in the box.
Ten minutes to regulation, Ronaldo set up Gonzalo Higuain for the third goal of the match. A minute later, the ball was in the back of the net again with the striker slipping the ball under the goalkeeper Robin Olsen to complete his hat trick.
The 34-year-old has scored in all of his last five games.
Napoli topped the log for a few hours but a win for Inter Milan later that night means the side from Naples drop off to third place behind Juventus while Inter regains the top spot.
Ronaldo became only the second player to score hat-tricks in the Premier League, La Liga, and Serie A.
