Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training with Manchester United’s first team after being axed for the 1-1 draw against Chelsea.
Ronaldo returned to the squad amid ongoing talks with manager, Erik ten Hag.
Recall that he failed to make the trip to Stamford Bridge after refusing to come on in United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham last week.
The 37-year-old had stormed down the tunnel before regulation time in the Spurs game in an apparent fit of annoyance.
The manager then forced him to train apart from the first team before the club announced he would not be included in the match-day squad to face Chelsea.
After the club’s decision was announced, the five-time Ballon D’Or winner pledged to keep working hard and support his teammates, saying he lived and played respectfully towards his colleagues, adversaries, and coaches.
However, the club fined him around two weeks’ wages, up to £720,000, for his public show of indiscipline.
