A train purportedly making its way down to the Southern part of the country from the North, today crushed two persons to death in Ilorin, Kwara State, as they were on a queue to buy petrol.
According to reports, the incident happened at a petrol station that was situated around a rail crossing in the Sango area of the Ilorin metropolis.
It was gathered that one of the victims was a taxi driver, who died on the spot, while the other was a motorcycle rider.
While explaining the reason for the ugly incident, the Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) was quoted as saying the accident was caused by the closeness of the motorists to the rail track.
A survivor is believed to be in critical condition at an undisclosed hospital, reports say.
