Armed robbers on Thursday launched a dare-devil attack on a bullion van belonging to a commercial bank in Yaba area of Ondo town, Ondo West local government area of Ondo State.
The incident was said to have occurred close to the Yaba Police Division.
The bullion van was conveying an undisclosed amount of cash from Ondo town to Akure when it was hit, The Herald gathered.
The attack that was said to have commenced around 3 pm sent residents and commuters around the area into panic, this newspaper learnt.
However, policemen from the nearby division deployed to the scene, successfully foiled the attack on the bullion van.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Tee-Leo Ikoro confirmed the attack on the bullion van, noting that the robbery attack did not succeed.
He also noted that no one was injured in the attack.
The incident occurred the same month as a robbery attack on a commercial bank in Ilara-Mokin in Ifedore LGA of the state, where three persons, including a journalist, Bunmi Afuye, were killed.
