Benue works and transport commissioner Alexander Shaapera has assured Benue people that more township roads would be rehabilitated in 2020.
Shaapera gave the assurance in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Makurdi.
The works commissioner disclosed that the 2020 budget had been signed and money would soon be released for the repair of more roads.
“The State Government is committed to ensuring that there are good roads in Benue. We shall do everything possible to build good roads to ease the movement of goods and services,” he said.
Meanwhile, motorists in Makurdi have commended the state government for rehabilitating some of the township roads in Makurdi, the state capital.

Some of them, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), thanked the government for rehabilitating the old Otukpo and Ishaya Bakut roads.
Two such drivers – Aondozungwe Tyo and Victor Mba – appealed to the government to rehabilitate all major roads in Makurdi and open up more streets for easy movement.
