Riverdale stars Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse have called it quits after nearly three years together.
Sprouse and Lili who play Jughead and Betty on “Riverdale,” popularly known by the couple name “Bughead” by fans started dating in 2017, the same year the show premiered on the CW.
Page Six reports that this isn’t the first time the Riverdale couple has sparked breakup rumors. As fans will recall, rumors started spreading that the duo called it quits last summer, which they outrightly denied.
However, a source told Page Six, “Cole and Lili split before the pandemic hit, and have been quarantining separately. They remain good friends.”
This comes after “Riverdale” actor Skeet Ulrich’s girlfriend hinted that the co-stars were caput. Ulrich, who stars as Sprouse’s on-screen father on the show, answered questions on Instagram Live with girlfriend Megan Blake Irwin.
When asked if he thinks “Cole and Lili are a cute couple” Ulrich replied saying “I think they were a very cute couple,” while his girlfriend Irwin said “They were a very cute couple, They’re both beautiful people,”
In July 2019, following reports of a split, Lili said on Twitter, “Don’t believe everything you read on the internet, kids. And news sources should try a little harder to be less vile. ‘Reliable sources’ can kiss my ass.”
