As uncertainty continues to loom over the identity of the last two players to be dropped by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr from his World Cup squad, a popular journalist has revealed the names of those players.
Recall that Rohr had initially unveiled a 30-man provisional list before dropping Dele Ajiboye, Stephen Eze, Junior Lokosa and Uche Agbo after Monday’s game against DR Congo, while Moses Simon remains a doubt.
As only 23-players can be taken to the World Cup, Rohr would have to drop two more players before FIFA’s unveiling of each country’s final squads on June 4.
It seems the decision has now been made after the 2-1 loss to England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
ESPN journalist, Colin Udoh claimed that defender Ola Aina and midfielder Mikel Agu have been dropped from the squad.
Udoh revealed this in a Sunday morning post on his verified Twitter handle.
He tweeted:
UNOFFICIAL: The two players to miss out on @NGSuperEagles 23-man squad are Ola Aina and Mikel Agu.
They will not travel with the team to Austria #SuperEaglesInsider #Russia2018
