Following the capture of one of Boko Haram Kingpin and the rescue of a Chibok girl who was kidnapped in 2014 by the Islamist-Jihadist sect, fresh facts have emerged on the reason why the couple made the journey which led to the arrest and rescue operation.
According to Mohammed Hayatu, the Boko Haram commander, also known as ‘Amir’, the escape from Sambisa forest with Amina Ali and the baby was mainly due to hunger and ill health.
The Boko Haram Kingpin who was reported to have fled the terrorists camp to surrender himself to the Civilian Joint Task Force members in Balle, a village in Damboa said that he couldn’t stay on in Sambisa as his family was on the brink of starvation.
Amir noted that the starvation in the Boko Haram camp was due to the Military’s operation in blocking possible supply routes into the terrorist camp.
