Three cameroonians have been jailed for making a sarcastic reference to the extremist group terrorizing Nigeria and it’s neighbouring countries.
Amnesty International says that the three young men made a joke about the situation of the country.
The men, who are Forunsho Ivo Feh, Afeh Nivelle Nfor and Azah Levis Got, were sentenced by the Military Court of Yaounde for non-denunciations of terrorist acts.
Boko Haram is an Islamic extremist group located in the North Eastern part of Nigeria. It is also active in Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
The terrorist group has carried out several attacks in the country, especially in the Northern part of Nigeria.
The human rights group has called for the three men’s unconditional release, claiming the right to freedom of speech for every individual.
