Respected journalist, David Hundeyin has pulled out of the Diversity Summit organised by popular The Future Awards.
He cited organiser’s “documented link with a government that murders its own citizens in cold blood” for his withdrawal.
Hundeyin made the announcement in a tweet Friday morning.
“Following recent events, I wish to publicly decline my invitation to be a panelist at this event due to the organiser’s documented links to a government that murders its own citizens in cold blood.
“I do not wish to be affiliated with such bloodguilt in any way,” Hundeyin said.
He also shared his letter of invitation to be a “panelist for the Diversity Summit at the Future Festival (TFF) 2020”.
The letter was signed by the Founding Partner, The Future Project, Adebola Williams.
Williams is a co-founder of Red Media Africa, which owns StateCraft Inc, the governance consulting firm involved in President Muhammadu Buhari’s successful push for the 2015 presidential election.
The President had described Williams as a “friend” when the latter was selected for the 2016 Mandela Washington Fellowship, an initiative of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) of the US Department of State.
