Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has condemned Sunday’s arrest of PDP presidential campaign spokesman, Buba Galadima by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Omokri, who was Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media, took to his verified Twitter handle to condemn the arrest, as Nigerians eagerly await the final results of Saturday’s presidential election.
Galadima, a vocal critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), took to Twitter to reveal his imminent arrest on Saturday.
He tweeted, “Note that our situation room is being circled by men suspected to be members of state security service. It’s suspected that they want (to) raid the place and cut away our communication gargets and arrest our operatives. May God save Nigeria.”
DAILY NIGERIAN quoted one of Galadima’s daughters as confirming the arrest, saying her father was trailed in his car to an area around Wuse 2 area of Abuja and whisked away by security agents in an unregistered vehicle.
Reacting, Omokri said, “Why has the DSS arrested Buba Galadima? What crime has he committed? APC thugs disrupted voting in PDP strongholds of Lagos. Not one of them has been arrested by DSS, yet they arrested Buba. I urge the DSS to remember their loyalty is to Nigeria, not Buhari or APC.
“APC demands arrest of Buba Galadima at 1PM. DSS arrests him at 2PM. Nigerians are no fools. The voice of satan and the hand of lucifer. DSS should just change their name to Armed Wing of APC. How many people will they arrest before seeing the handwriting on the wall?”
