Rema: Poverty and Mother’s Plight Inspired My Music Career

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Rema, has revealed that poverty and his mother’s struggles motivated him to pursue a career in music. In an interview with Capital Xtra London, Rema shared that his mother’s inability to afford transportation fares inspired him to work hard and succeed.

Rema recalled: “I was tired of my mum trekking every day; she didn’t even have money for transport to use a bus or bike. So I had to take it to the next level ASAP.” He added that his mother’s prayers and support have been instrumental in his success.

The young musician also expressed his gratitude towards his mother, stating: “She’s a great mum. She’s the reason I’m successful. Her prayers. She’s really proud of me.” Rema’s heartfelt tribute to his mother has resonated with fans and highlights the importance of family support in achieving one’s goals.
