Many customers of DStv in Nigeria may soon heave a sigh of relief after the company, Multichoice Nigeria, said it was seriously considering the pay-as-you-use payment option.
The Managing Director, Multichoice Nigeria, John Ugbe, said the company would adopt the payment option in the future if it is technologically possible and the business model allows for it.
He said this in a Digital Dialogue in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Friday, The Guardian reported.
Pay-as-you-use, if adopted, will charge customers based on effective resource consumption excluding interference.
Many providers of pay TV services had always stated that it was impossible to adopt the pay-as-you-use payment option on the grounds that they bought relayed content in a whole rather than in bits.
