Harry Redknapp who was widely expected to take over the Super Eagles job seems to have snubbed Nigeria in favour of a consulting stint with Australian club Central Coast Mariners .
The 69-year-old former Tottenham, QPR and Portsmouth manager was expected to take over the Super Eagles job after Engish Daily Star insinuated that the NFF had approached Harry Redknapp.
It had been hoped that Redknapp would oversee Nigeria’s qualifying campaign for Russia 2018 and that while he wasn’t well versed in national football, his vast experience would serve the nation well.
The snub means that Salisu Yusuf would probably continue as interim coach. The coach presently acts in the interim is to take charge of two upcoming friendlies against Mali in Paris on May 27 and Luxembourg on June 1.
