A farmworker identified simply as Bamidele has been arrested after he was allegedly caught stealing chickens from his employers.
A man, Abiodun Bello, shared photos of the incident on Twitter on Thursday.
He explained that the farm management had become disturbed after losing 250 chickens in one month despite no epidemic hitting the farm.
Bello added that the management swung into action to determine how the chickens were disappearing.
A co-worker was said to have reported to the management after sighting Bamidele sneaking into the farm late at night, picking up some chickens, and stuffing them into a sack he brought along.
The management then set a trap for him on another night and he was caught red-handed.
Bello wrote:
We lost over 250birds within a month without any disease outbreak. The reports we always received was that there was mortalities and the dead birds have been thrown away.
Yesterday Bamidele's coworker hinted us that he noticed Bamidele usually sneak into the pent late-nights… pic.twitter.com/N8XkNyalru
