As the economic condition of the country come under heavy setbacks, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has announced the decline in number of internet subscribers in the country.
The announcement was made via the commission’s Monthly Internet Subscribers Data for the month of January which revealed that the number of internet users in Nigeria’s telecommunications networks declined to 91, 274,446 in January.
The decline recorded comes as against the earlier 91,880.032 users recorded in the month of December, 2016.
The new data released showed the GSM Service providers lost a total of 605,586 internet customers with Etisalat suffering a loss of 188.656 users, MTN recording a decline of 737, 964 internet subscribers, Airtel recording an increase of 25,494 customers and Globacom adding 66,094 users to its current customer base.
