Fani-Kayode to Nigerians: Brace for shocking political realignments in next few weeks

2 Min Read
Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says Nigerians will soon be shocked by the “many realignments” in the nation’s political space in the next few weeks.

He stated this in a tweet on Friday, after the Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi and Senator for Adamawa North, Elisha Abbo dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC).

President Muhammadu Buhari had described Umahi’s move as “bold” and hailed the governor for standing by his convictions.

Recall that shortly after the governor’s exit, Fani-Kayode, who is a PDP chieftain, had warned more PDP governors in the South-East and other geopolitical zones could switch parties.

Some PDP governors – Senator Bala Mohammed (Bauchi) and Samuel Ortom (Benue) – came out a few days later to deny reports linking them to the APC.

They blamed mischievous elements for circulating unfounded rumour.

In the Friday tweet, however, Fani-Kayode appeared to reiterate his claim.

The ex-minister wrote, “There are going to be many changes in the political landscape of this country in the next few weeks.

“Many realignments & new alliances will take place.

“Many will be shocked by what will happen. Those that have laboured will be rewarded.

“Those that have courage will thrive. Game on!”
